Every Saturday is Small Business Saturday

Small Business Saturday is my second favorite day of the year at OSM. (First place always goes to Baby Goat Day!)

It’s supposed to be the Saturday following Thanksgiving. This would be our fourth time participating.

It’s my fave because we see so many people. They come in and announce, “We’re here to support local business!” They are always in a good mood, indulge me by posing with our Shop Small sign and agree to let me post their photos all over social media.

It’s fun because we always do 10% off everything in the store. 

This year isn’t fun.

We’ve debated how to handle the crowds we typically see. We thought about appointment times, setting up a tent, pre-sales only, and the simple answer is, we just don’t feel comfortable hosting our traditional Small Business Saturday event.

Our top priority is always safety, so this year, that’s going to change some things.

I’m sad to not be able to see everyone that day, but still wanted to do something fun.

So from now, until the end of the year, EVERY SATURDAY IS SMALL BUSINESS SATURDAY.

We are wrapping up the final touches on our new online store and it will be operational by the weekend.

For the next five Saturdays we will still be open like usual, but we will post the special deal for the day and encourage you to browse right from the comfort of your home. Each Saturday, we will focus on a different department in the store. This Saturday will be Toys and Children’s items.
